HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BEAUTIFUL BESTIE – JESSICA (aka on this site as Moose). Wish I was there, but we’ll get at it in a week!!!!

Here’s to an amazing weekend in Chicago for the Healthy Living Summit. What feels good, is being here knowing you are going to be surrounded by people with like-minds and views. Anxious to hear what everyone has to say and to finally meet some people I’ve been watching for months.

Get on your Garmin pony!

I tackled a run this morning on the beautiful lakefront of Chicago. How can you not get out and enjoy it? No picture because I ran sans phone, it’s much easier that way. I am feeling a bit under the weather (gasp, I hate to even admit this!) but was hoping to sweat it out on an easy, long run. At mile 3, I turned to go back the way I came. I was then lined-up with a female runner with similar build/form. Out comes the competitor in me, crap. I told myself, “stick to your pace”…but I couldn’t do it. I could hear her footsteps behind me and I took off. She kept trying to creep up, but I kept pushing. Alas, a quick 6-er, followed by a mile walk to cool down. With the lake views, a mile flies by.

Seeing that my iPod DIED on me during my run, I almost can’t talk about it, I think it’s time to show it some love with my weekly rotation:
- Eminem: Collapse (this will keep you hauling even in the worst of times)
- Lil Jon: Outta Your Mind (courtesy of Ellen on SYTYCD last night)
- Leighton Meester and Robin Thicke: Somebody to Love (perfect for CoreFusion)
- Bruno Mars: Just the Way You Are (in honor of Operation Beautiful launch this week)
- Garth Brooks: Callin Baton Rouge (for our birthday girl!)

What songs do I need to add to my little green iPod monster?

It’s time to get the weekend party started. Turn it up and tear it out:

My weekly rotation:
- Eminem & Rhianna: Love the Way You Lie (Rhi Rhi and Em put it out there)
- Sublime: Doin Time (it was this or 40 oz to Freedom)
- Lupe Fiasco: Superstar (because we all, deep down, want to be rock stars)
- Michael Jackson: Smooth Criminal (RIP)
- Tom Petty: Free Fallin (who doesn’t want to sing in their car to this)

What are you rocking out to?!

iTune it up.

And if you are still in need of a World Cup Fix, here ya go kids. Courtesy of our friends in Springfield.

After this week, I had many nights driving home with windows down singing like the rent was due.

My weekly rotation:
- Jason Aldean: Crazy Town Lyrics (I’ve been keeping country from you too long!)
- Sugarland: It Happens (pretty much my week)
- Taio Cruz Featuring Ludacris: Break Your Heart (FINE by me, mmhmm!)
- Justin Bieber: KIDDING, I mean he’s precious but if I wanted to hear him sing I’d pick up the Olsen Twins album (sorry!)
- Explosions in the Sky: Your Hand in Mine (for yoga/pilates)

Any new songs I should know about?

iTune it up.

When I asked please Mr GymDJ to play a song for me… I had not idea I would get a whole shout-out from the DJ Booth! GymDJ is full of songs you’ll want stacked in your playlist. And there’s ones you’ve never heard, guarantee. I always get geeked when there are new songs out that I can work with.

Please Mr Gym DJ Put a Record On

This week my rotation has been:
- OMG: Usher featuring Will.i.am (Blackeyed Pea went rogue)
- Shark In The Water: VV Brown (little slow, but a melody that won’t quit)
- Unwritten: Natasha Bedingfield (oh come on! when nobody is with you, you’ll rock out to it)
- Twilight Zone: Golden Earring (Detroit Red Wings playoff season, it’s a must in rotation)
- Sweet Disposition: Temper Trap (another slow jam but a good beat to keep you moving)
- Anything by the Hot Sundaes (I tease, but put your mind to it go for it….)

iTune it up.

I cannot live without a few songs on my iPod Shuffle. Laugh, scoff, but these are the jams that muster up every ounce of energy I have left. Andrew hates that I’ve crapped up iTunes, but whatever works for ya.

- Evans Blue: Dear Lucid
- Eminem: Lose Yourself (it got me through a serious dip in my 1/2 marathon)
- Muse: Supermassive Black Hole (although the whole album is gangbusters)
- Rhianna: Disturbia
- Black Eyed Peas: Imma Be
- Kayne West: Stronger
- Finger Eleven: Paralyzer
- The Airborne Toxic Event: Sometime Around Midnight

And guilty pleasure bonus tracks include Britney Spears, Beyonce and any rock song that has been played at a Red Wings game.

Tune it up.
