Friday Five

I am upside down this week, literally. Bring on the weekend.

1. I’M WATCHING: Senna. It’s a remarkable documentary about a Brazilian Formula One driver. The film is produced in a truly unique way, and the film will put you through every emotion from happiness to anger. You don’t have to be a racing fan to appreciate the story of a true competitor.

2. I’M READING: I’ve been browsing news and sports websites following the drama surrounding cycling pro Alberto Contador. Since officials stripped Contador of his 2010 Tour De France title the entire cycling world is upside down again with accusations around athlete doping. An individual is at fault, but as a whole this does not help the cycling sport gain popularity or respect. As spectators, we want to see strong competition and rivalry but only when all athletes are playing fair and on the same level. Beat me at my best.

3. I’M LUSTING AFTER: Patagonia Capilene baselayers. I cannot get enough of my Patagonia baselayer. Breathable, light and soft. These are perfect for the spring mix of temperatures where you aren’t sure how hot or cold you’re going to be.

4. I’M LISTENING TO: Maverick Sabre,’No One.‘ You have to listen to understand the sound. Groovy, funky, chill, and killer vocals.

5. I’M (already) DROOLING OVER: Well it’s not chocolate this week, but it’s close. Have you heard about the NEW Multi Grain Peanut Butter Cheerios!? Dear Dietitians, don’t ruin this for me.

What flavor Cheerios would you make?

Thank you all very much for your support this week with the announcement of my 29 Day Challenge. Day 3 and the hardest part is…the sugar. I knew it would be tough; I am like those rodents they tell you about in lab experiments. I have, however, introduced even more fruits and veggies in my diet. Come to find out, the strawberries don’t really take anything like Starburst’s interpretation — kidding.

1. I’M LISTENING TO: Kelly Clarkson’s cover of Sara Bareilles “Gravity.” We’re going to slow it down….

2. I’M READING: Chelsea Handler’s Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang. For some, she’s too vulgar. For others, she’s not funny at all. For me, I can appreciate her humor.

3. I’M LUSTING AFTER: After 82Go Water that iRunner introduced me to. Um, these things are simply amazeballs. All other running or endurance races should be paying attention – I have seen the future of water and it tastes good. Somewhere plastic cups are crying. And your face and shirt are dry during a race!

4. I’M WISHING: Whatever happens with Mr Groundhog Punxsutawney Phil, we get an early spring!

5. I’M (already) DROOLING OVER: My new winter booties. Sorel’s are a close cousin to the Ugg. It was a musn’t have that I had-to-have when we were in France. They are seriously a fantastic all-weather boot. I promise not to pull a B Spears and wear them in the spring in a jean mini skirt, but if I could and not be judged…

Do you believe that Phil was correct this year in saying 6 more weeks of winter?Anyone know his track record?

This week went by way to quick. Blinked and it was Friday — not that I’m complaining. What’s on my Friday Five this week? Oh, have I got some goodies for y’all!

1. I’M LISTENING TO: Tracy Chapman, Fast Car. Yep, we hopped in the way back machine for this radio gem. This song reminds me of a certain fave person and every time I hear it I want to start jumping. It’s a great running song as well, I promise!

2. I’M READING: The truth? Sermon notes from a church back home. I won’t get all preachy on you, but I believe everyone should keep their foundation strong.

3. I’M LUSTING AFTER: TOMS Ballet Flats. Be still my heart. Does it get any more comfortable? Does cupid deliver?

4. I’M WISHING: That everyone would calm down about Paula Deen’s diabetes announcement and learn the facts. Educate yourself before your wreck yourself.

5. I’M (already) DROOLING OVER: Mini Cadbury Creme Eggs. Plus side, you don’t feel as guilty eating a few smaller eggs. Down side, you end up eating too mini many and you might as well should have gone for the whole egg.

What’s one of your favorite old school songs?

Whew, this week was a beast. A friendly beast, but a long one nonetheless. Start rocking your Friday of right!

1. I’M LISTENING TO: Gotye. “Somebody That You Use To Know” has been on repeat in my head all frackin week. Warning, you’ll want to start screaming singing along to this track.

2. I’M READING: Bits from Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything. My hus picked it up so I am browsing whenever he doesn’t have his head in it. The book applies economic theory to diverse subjects not usually covered by “traditional” economist. Pop culture meets economy, now you have my attention. I’m learning all sorts of stuff about the sales of car seats, finances of a drug dealer, etc.

3. I’M LUSTING AFTER: All the new Lululemon gear for birds and dudes. The looks are fresh and we know Lululemon might be the most comfortable fitting gear on the market.

4. I’M WISHING: That my hair would get the memo and grow a little longer already. I have dreams of big buns and messy ponytails.

5. I’M (already) DROOLING OVER: All the deliciously adorbs Valentine recipes. I have a sudden desire to cook for a classroom of children or make pancakes for my man.

What’s something your drooling over?

Hey guys, it’s Friday!! We made it through another week. Let’s get this weekend started off right with a new segment I’m whipping up called Friday Five. It’s been around for a bit, like the WIAW, so sorry I’m late to the party but at least I showed up, haha.

1. I’M LISTENING TO: Birdy. She’s a UK artist with the voice of a songbird. She has some ridiculous covers, such as Bon Iver’s Skinny Love. Ch-ch-check it out.

2. I’M READING: Inside of a Dog by Alexandra Horowitz. Bringing Indiana Jones across the pond means I need to read up on what exactly he might be thinking in his new home. I’ve already learned that a wagging tail doesn’t always mean your furry friend is happy.

3. I’M LUSTING AFTER: A ridiculously posh, cute Kate Spade iPhone case. Want.

4. I’M WISHING: That spring comes quickly. This rainy, windy cool crap needs to go. Once you get me past Christmas I have nothing but spring break on my mind.

5. I’M (already) DROOLING OVER: My new Nike compression running tights. I wish someone had told me that if I didn’t own a pair I was missing out. They are a-m-a-z-i-n-g. That said, they are worth every penny.
