The holidays are upon us and if you’re suffering from a Thanksgiving turkey hangover, let’s get you started off right this week. I know everyone behaved themselves over the weekend, right? Wink wink.
Plan it out: Whip out the planner and put your goals on paper. From grocery lists to workout routines, get it down.
Treat yourself: It’s Monday and if you’re feeling a bit ho-hum, grab a fancy cup of coffee, make fun evening plans with a friend over dinner or maybe grab an exercise class together.
Set your soundtrack: Everyone has a theme song. If you don’t, get one. I am obsessed with Flo Rida’s Good Feeling at the moment. Put in your headphones and work to music that makes you feel good. Up that productivity!
Jump! Jump!: I used to despise this trick, but I promise it works. If you are feeling lathargic or just plain blah, do 10 jumping jacks. It’s like pressing the human reset button.
Choose to be positive: Having a positive mindset towards the day is the best way to actually BE happy. You get back what you give out.
Go, go, go start your week off right. You are your best motivator. The first step is the hardest.
How are you getting going today?
I need a jump! If I wasn’t eating breakfast right now, I’d hop up and down for some energy.
Today I’m joining the Monday night crew for a group run – it’s been way too long.
Ahh, back in the habit!
I’m now going into work to work later hours (9-6 vs 7:30-4:30) so I kicked off my Monday at the gym! It’s been a while since I’ve done the early morning workout thing, but it felt amazing!
Good for you! Careful, you might become an addict!
Great tips! I’m seriously already doing most of these things this week, including listening to that song on repeat. I’m obsessed, and just wish I could convince my husband to like it as much as I do so I can blast it in our apartment.
Ditto! I sing it at the top of my lungs when he turns it off:)
Seriously needed this today – especially the choosing to be positive piece! I was getting all down and out that it was back to work Monday, I’m at my desk instead of outside enjoying an unexpectedly balmy 60 degree day and did I mention I’m back to work after a glorious few days off? haha. But seriously, thank you for posting this. As usual, you posted it at just the right time and just for ME! love you!
We all need a Monday boost. Enjoy the weather, who knows how long that will last. Wishing you an awesome week!
I like to start of the week with a run along the Charles in Boston. The awesome views of the city put me in such an awesome mood! It didn’t hurt that it was 60 degrees this morning either! Perfect running weather
That has to be gorgeous! Good stuff:)
These are all such great tips, especially being positive! I really needed that today.
Love all of these – such good advice. I’m definitely in a but of a Monday rut and need to give myself a jump start with one of these!
can i start tuesday? cause its tuesday here. hehe. I like this idea though!
Oh, you are such an overachiever! haha.
These are great tips! Today, I ‘got going’ by writing three fun things I’m going to do this week amidst exams and work..buy a coffee at starbucks, read a book outside, take fall photos, and watch one of my favorite shows
Fall photos!! I just took a ton this weekend. Beautiful.
Loved these tips. Shoot, I always love your posts!
I agree that music can play a huge roll in motivation. When I get out of work, I put on some pump-me-up tunes while I get my running clothes on. By the time I head out the door, I am rearing to go!
Thanks, A! That’s a great idea to get a soundtrack going to get you out the door, very smart!
